So it kinda sound like you step into the cursed house, gets cursed and then dies by the hands of a freaky female ghost right? not quite. The grudge ghost Kayako was actually an innocent little girl when her mother performed a sick japanese ritual that takes the spirit out of a person's body and then feds it to Kayako. So when she died she was still bound by that ritual.
That's why Kayako's twin sister Naoko helps the now cursed victims by performing a japanese exorcism.
This ritual however, is not an original one and could be fiction. However it is said that Japanese priests have extraordinary powers. But feeding exorcised ghosts to your own daughter is sick!
